Kevin was born and raised in the High Plains of the Texas Panhandle in Canyon, Texas where he spent most of his childhood wading around in Playa Lakes and from a very early age set out to become a waterfowl biologist. Kevin has a BS in Wildlife Management from Texas Tech University and a MS in Biology from Texas A&M University – Commerce, where he studied the feeding habits and body condition of migrating and wintering mallards in the Oak Woods and Blackland Prairies of North Texas. Kevin started working for Texas Parks and Wildlife as a technician on Cooper WMA in 1998. He later went on to work as the Assist Regional Waterfowl Biologist for East Texas studying under his mentor Carl Frentress. Kevin currently serves as the Assistant Waterfowl Program Leader and Harvest Information Program Coordinator for the state of Texas and is located at the Athens Field Office. |
Robert McFarlane was born in Palestine and graduated from its high school. Lost in the jet stream, he graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude with highest honors in chemistry. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, he setup a cardiology practice in Palestine and began applying his chemistry background to the study of black mud, trying to figure out why it is black and sticky; so far he has concluded that it is, in fact, black and sticky when wet. |
| Jim Neal is a native of east Texas with over 30 years experience in the field. He has worked for several environmental consulting firms, The Nature Conservancy, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other agencies. He presently works as a Migratory Bird Management Specialist and in land acquisition. | Jim Reed is a third generation Trinity Basin landowner residing in Navarro County. His ranching operation is family operated with his wife, two sons, daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. He has worked, lived, and hunted in the Navarro County area for over 50 years and operated a computer services business for approximately 20 years. Retired now, he and his wife, Judy, now mostly enjoy traveling, hanging out with hunters, and watching the grass grow. |
| Dick Swift is a third generation Palestinian who is a practicing trial attorney in Palestine, Texas. He has served as a Prosecutor and State Representative with special emphasis on the Natural Resources Committee while in Austin.He is lifelong hunter and fisherman. As a youngster, he relished quail hunting with his father in East Texas;an exstinct sport today. Both his son and daughter are avid hunters and fishermen.
